Donna Braud/River Region Art Publicity

Calling all young artists. River Region Art Association is looking for the creative youth of the area to submit their artworks in the annual competition for “March into Art.” This art show involves all art forms, paintings, drawings, photography, and 3-dimensional art. There will be no specific subject, just do what you like.

There are two age groups, 12-17 years and 11 years and under. Entries will be accepted from March 3-14 at River Region Art Gallery in Gonzales. Entry fee is $1 per entry with a limit of two entries per category.

Turn your ideas into artworks and be ready to win. Prize money and ribbons will be awarded to the winners in each category by age groups. Entry forms will be available at River Region Art Gallery located at 1835 N. Magnolia Ave. in Gonzales or online at www.artgumbo.org or call 644-8496.

The Gallery is open Tuesday- Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

A Louisiana Art Spirit Award will be presented to the school with the most participation showing spirit for the arts. Last year, St. Theresa School received this award at “March into Art” 2008. At the “Awesome Art Show” in the fall of 2008, St James Gifted Center captured the Louisiana Art Spirit Award.

It will be interesting to see who wins for Art Spirit this year. All schools are eligible.
