The winners of the “Click Art” Photo contest at River Region Art Gallery are, first place: Julie Hill with “Netherlands;” second place, Donna Smith with “Faded Glory;” third place, Josie Young with “Pink Rose;” and honorable mention, Josie Young with “Bird Nest.”

The next Community Theme exhibit at River Region Gallery begins with take in from Feb. 2-14.

The theme is “Things I Love” which involves one’s own personal ideas. What do you love? It could be a favorite person, place, or thing.  I love clowns, or  I love rock and roll, or I love Paris,  or I love pizza, or I love Louisiana, or I love my grandma, or I love the color purple, etc.

All art forms are welcome: paintings, drawings, photography, or 3-dimensional art.

All ages are welcome to join in on the community art exhibits. No entry fee. Just bring in two pieces of your best work for display.  Be sure the 3-dimensional pieces are wired and ready for hanging.

The show will be judged and ribbons awarded. It is fun and easy and a challenge to see who wins. Get the spirit.

The River Region Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for viewing and for entering art in the community exhibit.  Stop by and give it a try.  Let’s see what talent abides in Ascension Parish. “Things I Love” will be on display until March 1.
