American Legion Veterans Appreciation Breakfast
The American Legion Gautreau/Williams Post 81 will sponsor a veterans appreciation banquet for all area veterans and their families Jan. 31. Breakfast will be served beginning at 8 a.m. “Come by and enjoy a free breakfast in the company of your fellow veterans,” said Joe Harris, Post 81 member.
Any veteran interested in becoming an American Legion member are asked to bring a copy of their DD-214 form.

Family workshop Jan. 29 at library
Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge presents the “Who & How Can I help My Family?” workshop Thursday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Gonzales Library. Learn about the different agencies and how they can help you and your family.
A resource and health fair will also be included in the workshop. This workshop is open to the public and completely free. Refreshments will be served.
‘The Truth About Paying for Long Term Care’ seminar Feb. 4
Legacy Center of Louisiana, LLC will host a seminar entitled “The Truth About Paying for Long Term Care” Feb. 4 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth Medical Plaza, 17609 Old Jefferson Hwy., Prairieville. The topics will include Medicaid, veterans pensions and long term care insurance.

Doll Show and Sale Feb. 7
The Bayou Bebes of Baton Rouge presents “The Journey of Doll Collecting” Feb. 7. The doll show and sale will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Milton J. Womack Park (A BREC facility) 6201 Florida Blvd.
The day will also include a special display, door prizes and raffle.
