Gonzales Garden Club to celebrate Arbor Day Friday
The Gonzales Garden Club invites to public to attend its Arbor Day celebration at St. Elizabeth Hospital Friday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.
4-H Livestock Show this weekend
The Ascension Parish 4-H Junior Livestock Show will be through Jan. 17. The Swine Showmanship is at Friday at 6 p.m. Dairy, Poultry, Market Hog, Market Lamb, Market Goats and Breeding Shows will be Saturday at 9 a.m. The show will be in the 4-H Building and Arena B.
United Methodist Men’s Breakfast
The monthly breakfast and fellowship of the First United Methodist Men will be held in the Celebration Center of the church, 224 W. Constitution, Gonzales, on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 7 a.m. All interested men are invited to attend.
South Louisiana Wedding Expo Sunday
The South Louisiana Wedding Expo will be Sunday, Jan. 18, from 1-4 p.m. at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center, Trade Mart A and B. Admission is $10 at the door, $8 if registered online at theweddingmarket.com.
LaTrac site to be featured at Ascension GOP?roundtable
Steven Procopio, Director of Accountability and Research for the State of Louisiana, will be the featured speaker at the Ascension GOP Roundtable on Jan. 22 at noon at the Holiday Inn on Hwy. 30 in Gonzales. The Roundtable is sponsored by Ascension Republican Women.

CASA in need of volunteers
The Ascension Parish CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program needs volunteers to be the voice for innocent children who are victims of abuse and neglect. CASA depends on volunteers from the community to make a difference. The only requirements are that you have an interest in speaking up for a child, must be at least 21 years old and the ability to invest 1-2 hours a week advocating for an abused child.
