CASA volunteers celebrate year’s successes

Volunteers for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program gathered Thursday, Dec. 11 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church for dinner and to celebrate their many successes of 2008. Among their successes, CASA volunteers of Ascension parish served 43 abused and neglected children this year.
Christmas gifts for the CASA children provided by Household of Faith Church and Harvest Christian Church were distributed during the dinner. Oak Grove Baptist Church hosted the event and provided dinner for the CASA volunteers. Greg Jones, Senior Associate Pastor from Household of Faith, was the guest speaker who shared some inspirational words with the volunteers.
Child Advocacy Services would like to thank those who helped make this event a success. The CASA program trains community volunteers to speak on behalf of abused and neglected children in the foster care system.
