Zodiac Review

Colden Fell

Hello, this is the Zodiac speaking. I want to tell you about a film directed by David Fincher staring Jake Gyllenhall, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo. Taking place in the 1970’s, “Zodiac” tells the terrifying tale of a killer who terrorizes the people of California.

Let me tell you “Zodiac” is one of the most riveting films I’ve ever seen. This film is very well acted in Jake Gyllenhall who plays a cartoonist for the San Francisco Chronicle who gets traumatized in the case. He eats sleeps and breathes “Zodiac” and he plays the role of a man who’ll go to the absolute limit to find out who the “Zodiac” is extremely well. Robert Downey Jr. does an amazing job as well.

“Zodiac” is a film that has this vibe that pulls you in like I said before. I felt as if I was a policeman trying to solve this case. I was so engrossed in the film that when it had ended I didn’t know what to feel. That’s the beauty of Fincher. He takes you out of your world and you experience what’s inside his head for two to three hours. This was the first Fincher film I’ve seen and let me just say that I was blown away by his talent.

Fincher creates a setting that’s unbelievable. His directing is so mesmerizing that I couldn’t believe what I was watching. The cinematography is very well crafted. His shots are some of the greatest shots in a film I’ve ever experienced. Like I said before I didn’t know how to feel once the film ended. I felt so happy and just blown away. I tried passing around my house and I couldn’t shake the feeling. I’d describe Fincher like a drug. Once you’ve taken it once, you can’t get enough.

“Zodiac” is an amazing film that everyone needs to check out. If you’re a fan of the crime and mystery genre then this is a film for you. And if you’re a Fincher fan and you haven’t checked out this gem, I’d highly recommend it. You can check this film out streaming on Netflix right now so do yourself a favor and watch it.
