Jambalaya chefs across Louisiana are invited to participate in the 14th Annual Jambalaya Cooking Contest on July 19 & 20 during the Price LeBlanc Toyota & Nissan Swamp Pop Music Festival sponsored at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA. A cook's meeting for interested teams will be held on Monday, July 8, at 6 p.m. at the expo center's Big Sky Café.

The two-day cook-off benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been growing in size each year thanks to Wally Taillon and The Jambalaya Festival Association attracting jambalaya aficionados and amateur cooks alike. Jambalaya will be judged based on appearance, rice texture, meat texture and overall taste. The $150 entry fee provides each team of two with pork, onions, rice, sausage and cooking oil. All participating teams will receive four weekend passes to the festival.

Thousands of festival goers attend each year to enjoy an extensive line-up of Swamp Pop & South Louisiana musicians such as Don Rich, South 70, Ronnie Melancon and Friends, Warren Storm, Willie T & Cypress with special guest Tommy McLain, Tommy G & Stormy Weather, Kenny Cornett, Kenny Fife, and many more! Additionally, there will be a Motorcycle Poker Run presented by the Wild Pigs and a meet and greet with Joe Meaux & Charlie Watson from Redjacket Firearms featured on Discovery's #1 Hit Series Sons of Guns™ . The festival is the largest attended event the CF Foundation puts on in the country!
