Five members from the Gonzales American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 traveled Nov. 18 to the Louisiana Veterans Home in Jackson to help with their Thanksgiving Party. About 30 residents came out to play bingo.

The party featured bingo and treats brought by members to serve the residents. The members were from Gonzales, Ponchatoula, New Roads, Springfield and Scotlandville.

The members from Gonzales brought remote controls, batteries, wireless head phones, fruit, ties, pickles, Depends, briefs, cookies, sandwiches, books, chips, brownies and money for bingo.

Thanks to Gonzales American Legion Post 81 and Ralph's Supermarket for their donations. Thanks also goes to all the donation givers.

There are 143 men and four ladies living at the Home.

The residents enjoyed the day with the members of the American Legion Sixth District.
