Shown during the visit are, from left, Ana Popich, Miss Plaquemines Parish Seafood Queen; Miss Gonzales Jambalaya, Meredith Conger; the child with her mother; Hope Macaluso is Miss Sicilian Heritage Festival, and Kacie Petito, Miss Amite Oyster Festival.

Recently Miss Gonzales Jambalaya, Meredith Conger was asked to visit a sick little girl at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by Dreams Come True Executive Director Becky Prejean. The child's wish was for a "Princess Party" but as an added bonus, Conger offered to visit the child personally. It was at this visit that Meredith presented the "Little Princess" with her very own tiara to wear at her "Princess Party," and as is tradition among visiting queens, presented her with a gift bag of Jambalaya Festival souvenirs, special "Queen" rhinestone jewelry and nail polish. In keeping with tradition of hosting area visiting queens at a party, Conger put the call out to several queens about the pending party. "Several visiting queens took time out of their busy schedules to join the occasion and me in welcoming the newest princess to their sisterhood," said Conger. "It was a unique opportunity for these queens to give back to their community and someone in need."
