Prairieville Fire Department opens new station

Ascension Fire District 3 recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of their new fire station in Prairieville. Attending the ribbon cutting were Chief Mark Stewart, Chairman Walter Leftwich, Board Members Jack Harris, Mike Doring, Gary Newman and Teri Casso, State Fire Marshall Butch Browning, Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez, Ascension Parish Councilmen Pat Bell and Bennie Johnson, Ascension Chamber President/CEO Sherrie Despino and many fellow Chamber members.

Ascension Fire District 3 held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of their new fire station in Prairieville on Wednesday, April 29. 

The new three-bay fire station has a total of 12,000 square feet of space, including 9,000 square feet that can hold up to 6 fire trucks and 3,000 square feet of administrative space.

The Prairieville Fire Department is a combination fire department which provides fire, rescue and emergency medical services 24 hours a day using a combination of full time, part time and volunteer firefighters/medics.

They also provide fire prevention and public education to children in their area through local schools and daycares.
