BATON ROUGE – Cox Communications announced it’s adding more high-definition channels to its lineup, effective immediately.

These changes are being made with no additional programming charge to customers.

With the new launches, the Cox HD line-up becomes the largest in Louisiana, the comapny said in a release.

The company will add BET HD, Major League Baseball (MLB) HD, Fox Business HD, and Biography HD in the Baton Rouge and Acadiana markets. It will also launch WGN HD in the Baton Rouge region and St. Mary Parish service areas.

“Cox is pleased to add such a variety of programming to our high-definition lineup,” said Jacqui Vines, senior vice president and general manager for Cox Louisiana. “And, as the baseball season starts, it is great that we can launch MLB HD and WGN HD so our customers can follow their favorite teams.”

With the added networks, Cox will offer HD customers 61 channels in the Baton Rouge region and St. Mary Parish and 60 HD channels in the remaining Acadiana parishes. The launches will also expand the extensive On DEMAND library.

These changes do not impact customers in the New Orleans market, which was recently merged with the Greater Louisiana market.
