Cox hires former LED undersecretary

Cox Communications recently announced the hiring of Fran Gladden as Vice President of Governmental and Public Affairs.

Gladden will be responsible for all aspects of governmental, public, media and community relations for Cox in the Baton Rouge and Lafayette markets.

For more than 28 years Gladden has played an active role in economic development and governmental relations in the public and private sectors. She joins Cox from the Louisiana Department of Economic Development (LED), where she served as undersecretary. She previously served as LED’s deputy secretary from 2005-08 and legislative/congressional liaison from 2004-05.

Prior to joining LED, Gladden represented Louisiana’s rural electric cooperatives for 12 years.

Prior to that service, she worked for the Louisiana Department of Commerce in the national marketing and business incentives divisions. Prior to the Department of Commerce, she spent five years in economic development planning throughout Louisiana.

A native of Lake Charles, Gladden holds a Bachelor of Science from McNeese State University.
