More volunteers are needed to respond to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

· If you are in a position to volunteer for a minimum of 14 days and would like to deploy as a Red Cross volunteer, come Saturday to the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter for training and paperwork completion. Training begins at 8 a.m. at 4655 Sherwood Common Blvd. (near Airline Highway and Sherwood Forest). If you are qualified and assigned, the Red Cross covers transportation, feeding and housing. Questions? Call 456-5606.

· People can make a financial donation in support of Red Cross Disaster Relief by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions also may be mailed to the local Red Cross office.
