Canary Islanders Heritage Society Meeting set for Feb. 7

Irish Emigrations to Spain

Author and amateur historian Stephen Estopinal will address the February 7 meeting of the Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana. The subject of his talk will be the Wars of the Three Kingdoms and the subsequent Jacobite risings (1688-1745) which resulted in the mass migration of Irish Catholics to France and Spain.

The meeting will begin at 11 am at the Louisiana State Archives Building, 3851 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All meetings are open to the public.
