Ascension 4-H events set: Pet Show Jan. 15, Stick Horse Rodeo Jan. 16, and Livestock Show Jan. 17

The Ascension Parish 4-H hosts its annual Stick Horse Rodeo at the Lamar Dixon 4-H Building on Jan.16. Registration is at 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. The show is open to all youth 11 years old and younger. The classes are Buckin' Horse, Buckin' Bull, Flag Race, and Barrel Racing. The stick horse rodeo has an entry fee of $5.00.

The Ascension Parish 4-H hosts its annual pet show at the Lamar Dixon 4-H Building on Jan. 15. Registration is at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m. The show is open to all Ascension Parish 4-H members. The main categories are cats, dogs and other pets. All categories have sub categories such as longest tail and brightest color. Each category has a best dressed competition. The pet show has an entry fee of $1.00. The concession stand benefits the Ascension Parish 4-H Livestock Club.

The Ascension Parish 4-H and FFA hosts its annual Livestock Show at Lamar Dixon 4-H Building and Arena on Jan. 17. The show begins at 8 a.m. There will be cattle, sheep, goats, swine, rabbits, and poultry exhibited at the show. The show is open to the public for spectating.
