Community Health and Safety Fair
The Little Prairie Baptist Church and Life Source Hospice Services are hosting a Community Health and Safety Fair on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Highways 42 and 44.
Annual Men's Day and Father's Day Celebration
The Buena Vista Baptist Church located at 10633 Highway 18 in St. James is hosting its annual Men's Day and Father's Day Celebration on Sunday, June 15 at 9 a.m. Guest minister Pastor Timothy Campbell of Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Donaldsonville will speak. Rev. Dr. Joseph Coleman, Sr. is pastor.
Cheerleader Mini Clinic
The St. Amant High School Cheerleaders will be hosting its 2014 Cheerleader Mini Clinic June 16-20, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day. The clinic includes instructions, theme activities, a camp T-shirt, camp photo and snacks. Vacation Bible School

Special Tuesday starts June 3
The Beau Porto Special Tuesdays 2014 will be held every Tuesday, from 1-6 p.m., June 3 through July 8 at the former Carver Elementary, 518 W. Oak St., Gonzales. The program is held for persons with disabilities. Students are welcome to help and earn service hours for school or religious classes. Aviation Summer Camp for High School Students
The week of June 9-13 Louisiana Regional Airport will be the host of the "ACE" Aviation Career Education day camp.
This summer camp experience is held across Louisiana by a traveling staff of counselors eager to share their passion and knowledge of aviation.
ACE Camp focus is on four major components in aviation: The Airplane and Aviator, Flight Planning, Weather and Airport Design; which are all basic elements of becoming an aviator. While airports can seem like a foreign land with its unique language; ACE camp gives students the keys to unlock an exciting path to a wide variety of aviation careers.
That Gonzales ACE Camp at Louisiana Regional Airport is open to students entering High school in the fall of 2014 through age 18. The all registration fee of $200 includes all supplies, camp shirt and lunches during camp. Space is limited to 15 students on a first come basis. EAHS Spartanette Mini Dance Camp
The East Ascension High School Spartanette Dance Camp is set for July 14-18 in the school’s gym. The five day camp, designed for girls ages 3 and older, will be held from 9 a.m. until noon each day with a Friday Night Show-Off. For more information, contact DeShae at (225) 715-7588.
Annual brisket fundraiser
The Gonzales Firefighters Association’s 5th annual “Best Butts on Da Bayou” fundraiser will take place June 27. Pre-sales ($30 donation) will run until June 1. Pickup at fire station with first pickup, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and second pickup, 2-4 p.m. To place your order, call (225) 644-5307.

Individuals interested in making donations of clothing, furniture, and household items are encouraged to do so by dropping them off at the 1402 N. Burnside location. Individuals are encouraged to volunteer their time in helping the society to be successful in their charitable mission. StashBuilder’s Quilt Guild meets

Tuesday and Sunday Bingo
The St. Amant Knights of Columbus holds bingo two nights a week. On Tuesday, the doors open at 6 p.m. and bingo begins at 7:30. On Sunday afternoon the doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo begins at 5 p.m. No one under the age of 18 is allowed.
Everyone is invited to come. On the last Tuesday of each month free jambalaya is served to the players. The St. Amant Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 43472 Black Bayou Road.
Wednesday Bingo
The American Legion Post 81, 421 E. City, Gonzales, holds bingo every Wednesday night. Everyone is welcome. Children are welcome, but must buy at least a $5 book.
