St. Amant High School to host African Children’s Choir

The Young Africans Choir is made up of performers from Uganda and Kenya. This group will host a workshop and performance on Monday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. The presentation will take place in the St. Amant High School’s New Gym (12035 Hwy. 431, St. Amant. Please check-in at the school’s office.

Students from St. Amant High School Choir and AP Human Geography classes, East Ascension High School Choir, and Dutchtown High School AP Human Geography and African-American Studies classes will attend. Due to contractual agreements, the event is not open to the public, but media outlets are encouraged to attend.

The choir will both perform for the attendees and teach them about the living conditions and culture of their native lands. The performance and workshop will be 60 minutes in its entirety.
