Destiny's Woman Ministry to host jewelry party

Destiny's Woman Ministry will hold its next monthly meeting on Friday, Aug. 2 at the residence of Lorraine Wimberly, 10454 Airline Hwy., Gonzales (across the street from Household of Faith). Maryanne Reynolds, a representative with Park Lane Jewelry, will be presenting the latest items from the popular direct sales jewelry line. There will be games and prizes, and light finger foods and refreshments will be served. Ladies can look forward to a relaxing evening of fellowship, while shopping for the latest in jewelry fashion. All the fun begins at 7p.m. Women and teenage girls of any denomination are welcome.

5th Annual Back to School In Style

The 5th Annual Back to School In Style event will take place Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center, 9039 St. Landry Rd., Gonzales. Local stylists/barbers will be cutting children's hair ages 5-15.

St Amant Wildcats 7th Annual Steak Dinner

St Amant Wildcats youth football organization is selling tickets for the 7th annual steak dinner. The event is being held on Aug. 24 at Lamar Dixon Gym from 5-10 p.m. with each ticket get steak dinner, music, live and silent auctions. Tickets are $25 and participants must be 21 to attend. All proceeds will go to Wildcats organization to buy equipment for 2013 season.

Hospice Grief Support Group to meet

Join SouthernCare, Inc. for their monthly SouthernCare Hospice Grief Support Group on Aug. 22.

The topic will be "How Grief Changes Your Life" (and whatever is needed by attendents)

N.O. Saintsations to host Jr. Saintsation Camp

The New Orleans Saintsations will be hosting a Jr. Saintsation Camp on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Saints Training Facility, 5800 Airline Highway, Metairie. The Junior Saintsation program is a great opportunity for young ladies ages 5-17 to learn basic dance and cheer techniques from the 2013-2014 Saintsations while making friends and having lots of fun! In addition to participating in this amazing season with our New Orleans Saintsations, as a Junior Saintsation you will receive a practice T-shirt, the official Jr. Saintsations uniform, pom poms, an autograph session with the Saintsations, and a 2013 Saintsations team photo. Parent and Youth Summit

The East Ascension Ministers' Alliance presents its 2nd Annual "Parent and Youth Summit." Parents and youths are asked to a part of this event. The public is invited to hear from parents and youths of Ascension Parish, along with officials and local government communications of our Ascension Parish youths and parents on today's issues. EAHS class of 1983 30th Year Reunion

The reunion committee is inviting all graduates of the East Ascension High class of 1983 to join in celebrating the 30th reunion. It is scheduled to be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. at the Grande Pavilion on Airline Highway in Gonzales. The cost to attend is $40 per person. Ascension Parish Library offers free small business consulting on the second Monday of each month at the library in Galvez, 40300 Hwy. 42, Prairieville. Persons wanting to start or improve a small business receive a private, two-hour consultation designed to provide professional help in areas of business planning, financing, marketing, and accounting.

This service is provided by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southern University - Baton Rouge and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
