Meredith Conger and Lexie Scioneaux will end their reign as Miss and Teen Gonzales Jambalaya Queens on Saturday, May 4 when new queens are crowned in the annual Jambalaya Festival Association Pageant.

Before giving up their titles, Conger and Scioneaux will welcome more than 30 queens from around the state for a queens day events which will include a mini pot cookoff. The pageant will begin at 7 p.m. in the Gonzales Civic Center.

Over the past year, the queens have enjoyed the opportunity that their titles have given them to travel around our Louisiana representing and promoting the city of Gonzales and the Jambalaya Festival Association.

The festival is a fundraiser for the Jambalaya Festival Association, which provides for various charities throughout the year. This year’s festival is May 23-26 on Irma Blvd. in Gonzales.

The Jambalaya Festival Children’s Pageant will be held on May 5. The pageants are open to Ascension Parish residents girls ages 0-22 and boys ages 0-4 years of age. For more information, please visit www.jambalayafestival.org or call or email Elise Tureau at elise.tureau@yahoo.com or 938-8716.
