View over 1500 blooms on display at the Camellia Show sponsored by the Baton Rouge Camellia Society, Feb. 9 and 10 at the Rural Life Museum, 4560 Essen Lane at I-10. The show is open to the public on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 1-5 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m.-3 pm.

According to Dr Patrick Hegwood, former LSU AgCenter Professor and Camellia Society member, "there is no admission to the show and many of the Camellia cultivars will be on sale, if you have a question on growing these bushes, experts will be on hand." Hegwood adds, "The public is also invited to enter blooms for judging on Saturday from 8-11 a.m." Besides coordinating their annual show, the Baton Rouge Camellia Society members maintain the Vi Stone Camellia collection at Burden, for more information contact Hegwood at (225) 266-6054.
