Special Tuesday Christmas
Special Tuesday Christmas will be held, from 4:30-7 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Gonzales Civic Center. The event is sponsored by the Gonzales City Council and Mayor Barney Arceneaux. For more information, call Bobbie Blanchard at (225) 717-1151.
'Jammin' 4 Jason' Benefit
If you want to have lots of fun and help someone at the same time go to "JAMMIN' 4 JASON," from 8 p.m. till Midnight, on Saturday, Dec. 1, at The Moonlight Inn on. Jason Naquin has been unable to work since Hurricane Issac, due to kidney complications and will be undergoing a kidney transplant in the very near future. He is presently going to dialysis 3 days a week. He is in his mid-30's, with a wife who is attending Southeastern to become a school teacher and 3 young children.
The event costs $5 per person donation at the door with all proceeds going directly to Naquin and his family.
Music will be provided by Lil' Bit Meaux and you may want to get your groove on for the "Ants-In-Your-Pants" Dance Contest where cash prizes will be awarded for best in Jitterbug and Freestyle dance. Along with our 50/50 raffle, jambalaya dinners will be available for $5 per plate throughout the night.
Annual Christmas Party
The VFW Auxiliary 3693 will host their Annual Christmas Party, at 6 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 2. There will be a raffle and an aviation to benefit Cancer Aid and Research.
The party is for member and their quest. The Auxiliary would be appreciative is participants bring a dish.
Senior Citizen Christmas Party
The American Legion Auxiliary will host a Senior Citizen Christmas Party, from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Legion Hall. There will be bingo, prizes and refreshments.
'Parents Night Out'
Mount Zion Baptist Church, Galvez, is hosting a free "Parents Night Out" program for children, kindergarten through fifth grade. Hot dogs, crafts, games, storytime, prizes and lots of fun are in store for the kids. Mark your calendar's for Dec. 14, from 5-9 p.m.

Cancer Services Group
The combined November/December holiday luncheon of the Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. A light luncheon will be provided in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, 224 W. Constitution Street. Anyone whose life has been affected by cancer is welcome to attend. The regular meeting is held every fourth Wednesday at noon. For questions, call 647-4678.
EATEL Holiday Hotline
EATEL wants to make certain that Santa gets all children's wish lists this holiday season. Kids can call the free "EATEL Holiday Hotline" at (225) 621-4646, a direct line to the North Pole, and leave their Christmas wish list on Santa's private voicemail. In order to get all lists to Santa on time, the Holiday Hotline will be open until Christmas Eve.
Addiction Recovery Group
The Most Excellent Way Addiction Recovery Group, sponsored by Christ Healing Community, is located 404 W. Pine St. in Gonzales, behind Dominos on Airline. The group meets every Friday at 7 p.m. For information, call (225) 773-4302.
Fire Department Fundraiser
This year as one of the Galvez-Lake Volunteer Fire Department fund raising events is a raffling for a copper waterfall garden that was made and donated by waterfallforge.com. Tickets for the raffle are available for purchase at the fire station, from any of the dinner sales, or any member of the fire department. The raffle will be drawn on Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. Winner need not be present to win.
School Garage Sale
Ascension Catholic Diocesan Regional School will host a garage sale at the Middle School gym located at 809 St. Vincent Street in Donaldsonville on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8 a.m.-noon. No early birds! They will have lots of clothes for all ages and sizes, toys, furniture, and knickknacks. Proceeds benefit the elementary school's playground fund.
Craft booths available
Craft booths are available for the St. Joseph Catholic Church "Winter Wonderland" Food Festival, A Taste of French Settlement on Sun., Dec. 2. The booths are $25 each. Wednesday Bingo
The American Legion Post 81, 421 E. City, Gonzales, holds bingo every Wednesday night. Everyone is welcome. Children are welcome, but must buy at least a $5 book.
