Central Primary Colts in Action sponsors holiday good drive

Many of us have been embarrassed by a rumbling in our stomach at one time or another, but for one in four Louisiana children, under the age of 5, hunger is no laughing matter.
CIA, Colts in Action, Central Primary’s PTO not only works to assist its staff, it strives to serve the community.
During the holidays, the truth about hunger is brought to the forefront. CIA sponsored its annual holiday food drive throughout the months of November and December.
Students donated various nonperishable goods: rice, stuffing mix, pasta, cornbread, canned vegetables and fruit, etc. Because of their generosity, CIA was able to fill thirteen boxes for needy Central families before donating the remaining (approximately 25 boxes) to the St. Mark’s Food Pantry.
Giving is rewarding. CIA appreciates the thoughtfulness of those who opened their hearts this holiday season. Another food drive is being planned for the Lenten season. CIA anticipates continued success.
