High Heels for High Hopes Gala held

Among the many celebrity waiters who helped the March of Dimes High Heels for High Hopes event Thursday night at Palazzo Bernardo in Donaldsonville raise around $35,000 was Murphy Painter, Commissioner of Alcohol & Tobacco Control in the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

The annual High Heels for High Hopes at Palazzo Bernardo’s in Donaldsonville Nov. 12 proved a night to remember. There were celebrity waiters in tuxedos serving 240 high-heeled women in a festive mood, fashion models, an auction and raffled prizes.

And, all for a good cause, with Rotary Club waiters and area celebrities suited up and in competition to serve the table with the most tips.

The winning waiter: Ascension Parish District Attorney Ricky Babin, who turned in $2,000.

The night’s biggest winner: The March of Dimes, with a total of $35,000 raised for the cause.
