Boucherie Festival events announced
Those looking for a cracklin’ good time will want to pencil the Sorrento Boucherie Festival into their calendars.
The annual event will be held Oct. 16-18 at the Ascension Civic Center in Sorrento, the Sorrento Lions Club announced Tuesday.
On tap are traditional events like the Cracklin’ Cooking Championship and Pork Jambalaya Cookoff, plus many local musical acts.
A second outdoor stage and carnival rides have been added this year, offering entertainment for all age groups.
New this year is the addition of a carnival.
“The Lion’s Club has been diligent at trying to make the tradition of the Boucherie one that involves the whole family, and we have expanded on that,” said Sorrento Lions Club President Clint Falcon.
Tickets may be purchased at R&B Grocery in Sorrento, Sorrento Town Hall or by calling Lisa LeBlanc at 225-715-3695.
