Piccadilly named Special Olympics sponsor

HAMMOND – Special Olympics Louisiana has announced that Piccadilly Restaurants is the new corporate sponsor of the 2009 State Summer Games.

Piccadilly, which operates a restaurant in Gonzales on Airline Highway, will provide all participating athletes a meal during the upcoming games.

On May 22-24 more than 850 Special Olympics athletes from across the state will converge at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Strawberry Stadium for the annual Special Olympics Louisiana Summer Games’ Opening Ceremonies.

Summer game events include athletics, bocce, power lifting and volleyball.

Piccadilly will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to some 1,000 people, including the athletes, coaches and volunteers, each day during the summer events.

Tom Sandeman, Piccadilly CFO, will serve as the Honorary Chairman of the games.
