Literary Club of Baton Rouge meets in Gonzales

The Literary Club of Baton Rouge held its April meeting at the home of Anita Spaht in Gonzales. Program speaker was Kevin Kelly, owner of Houmas House who gave an informative history of the plantation and his journey in acquiring it. He also spoke about future expansions to the plantation, as well as the recently completed grand Tea Room. Houmas House is considered one of the South's oldest and most beautiful plantation estates and once again reigns as: The Crown Jewel of Louisiana River Road. After the program presentation, lunch followed for members and guests.
