REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR SUMMER ART CAMP

Looking for a program that is fun, creative, and educational for children this summer? Registration is now open for the River Region Summer Art Camp 2015 by River Region Art Association.

The camp is held in four weekly sessions at the St. Amant Recreation Center located at 45404 Stringer Bridge Road in St. Amant, LA. The cost is $90 per session and is open for youth, ages 6-15. All supplies and a daily snack are provided.

Schedule: The camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day. The sessions are June 1 - 5, June 8 - 12, July 6 - 10, and July 13 - 17.

Description of Classes: The camp is for children and young teenagers who love making art. The small classes, divided by age level and art interest, are led by experienced teacher/artists. The curriculum, listed below, varies each session, so students can take multiple sessions and explore new learning each time.

PAINTING & DRAWING: Art fundamentals using a wide variety of media such as tempera, watercolors, pastels, pencil, charcoal, and acrylics.

MIXED MEDIA & PRINTMAKING: Creation of in-depth art projects using a combination of art methods such as printing, painting, drawing, printmaking, and collage.

SCULPTURE & DECORATIVE ART: Creation of sculpture and decorative objects using a wide variety of media such as Paper Mache, modeling clay, wire, found objects, and wood.

Registration Details: Number of students is limited and sessions fill up quickly. Advanced registration suggested by Friday, May 15.
