Want to learn watercolor? There are still a few openings left for with renowned artist Louise Hanson. She will be teaching a two day en plein air workshop on watercolor at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens on March 25 and 26.
Come explore seeing and creating nature in new and exciting ways. We will be working with landscapes, "outdoor still life" and even introducing life (birds, animals, etc.) into your paintings if you chose.
Emphasis will be creating texture, how to move paint around on your paper to enhance design. Using color to create depth and interest. We will even cover making corrections. It will be 2 packed days, but it will be fun!
The first day, in the interest of saving time, you will be provided an outline of a landscape that can be transferred to a quarter sheet of watercolor paper, either by light box or transfer paper.
$150 for both days, includes lunch at fabulous Cafe Burnside at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens.
Class meets from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Advanced registration required. Please come by our Depot Gallery at 1008 W Hwy 30 in Gonzales, Wed - Sun from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for registration and supply list.
