Open casting call for family feature film
Sarah Dowling Casting is conducting a nationwide search for spirited, interesting, smart and
creative boys (ages 6-10) to be considered for leading roles in the upcoming Hollywood
family film, "Midnight Special." For story reasons, we are only looking for Caucasian boys
at this time.
"Midnight Special" is written and directed by award-winning director, Jeff Nichols (Mud,
Take Shelter).
There will be an open casting call held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 in Baton Rouge, LA at:
The Crowne Plaza
4728 Constitution Ave.
Baton Rouge, LA 70808
Time: 10am-4pm
There is free parking at the hotel. The casting call will consist of a brief talk with a member
for the casting team and possibly an interview on camera. All participants should bring a
non-returnable photo. Interested parties may email us at MidnightSpecialCasting@gmail.com
or call our Information Line at 512-373-3269 for more information, though no appointment is
necessary.
While acting experience is not necessary, the production will provide compensation on the
scale of professional actors. Filmmakers are specifically looking for children who are
creative and interesting, perhaps with a particular wisdom, intelligence or 'old soul' quality.
Boys who are in gifted and talent programs are encouraged to apply. All looks and body
types are encouraged. We are especially looking for a boy with large or unique eyes. If your
child speaks Spanish or another second language, please let us know at the time of your
interview.
Sarah Dowling has worked in casting on such films as "Mud" (starring Matthew
McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon), "The Tree of Life" (starring Brad Pitt and Sean
Penn), "The Girl" (starring Abbie Cornish), and "Seven Days in Utopia" (starring Robert
Duvall).
