Ribbon cutting and dedication service
The community is invited to join the First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist
Church, under the leadership of the Reverend Irvin Briley Jr., in celebrating the
ribbon cutting and dedication service for the new sanctuary, at 9 a.m., on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 9 a.m., at 11453 Highway 73, Geismar. Everyone is encouraged to come and bring a friend to the celebration.
Addiction Recovery Group

Fire Department Fundraiser
This year as one of the Galvez-Lake Volunteer Fire Department fund raising events is a raffling for a copper waterfall garden that was made and donated by waterfallforge.com. Tickets for the raffle are available for purchase at the fire station, from any of the dinner sales, or any member of the fire department. The raffle will be drawn on Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. Winner need not be present to win.

Women's Ministry to meet
The Women's Ministry of Praise Church, Lorraine Wimberly and hosts will conduct their December meeting on Friday, Dec. 7. A light dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by ministry at 6:30 p.m. Ladies and teen girls are invited to attend.

AARP Chapter 1449 to meet
The AARP Chapter 1449 of Gonzales will meet at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16 at 2337 S. Robert Wilson Rd., Gonzales. Participants are asked to bring toiletries for the nursing home. Also, a reminder to bring money for the Christmas social which will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21 at Sno's Seafood & steakhouse, 13131 Airline Hwy., Gonzales.
Annual Fall Revival
Buena Vista Baptist Church, Donaldsonville, will host their Annual Fall Revival at 7 p.m. from Monday, Nov. 19 through Wednesday, Nov. 21. The guest Evangelist will be the Rev. Lloyd Jones Sr., pastor of Virginia Baptist Church, Klotzville and Moses Baptist Church, Thibodaux.
Cottages for CASA playhouse raffle
Child Advocacy Services is selling tickets their 2012 Cottages for CASA playhouse raffle. Tickets are $10 and participants will have three chances to win a prize. There are two playhouses and one 7-day beach house in Destin, Fla. The tickets are $10 and can be purchased at: 1026 E. Worthey Road, Suite C, Gonzales. Craft booths are available for the St. Joseph Catholic Church "Winter Wonderland" Food Festival, A Taste of French Settlement on Sun., Dec. 2. The booths are $25 each.
