Submissions requested for 'Fruit of the Spirit: A Community Art and Photography Show'

River Community Church is inviting artists aged 14 and older to submit paintings and photos for its third community art show. Artists may submit one entry to this free show that begins Sun., Oct. 28. The theme of the show is "Fruit of the Spirit." Artists may choose to use what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians as inspiration: "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23, English Standard Version)

Artists are limited to one entry. Art must be framed properly or on gallery-wrapped canvas, with a wire on the back for hanging. Take-in will be from 8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Sun., Oct. 21, and from 10 a.m. -4 p.m., Mon. and Tues., Oct. 22 and 23. Artwork must be appropriate for family viewing.

All sales of art will be handled directly through the artist. It is requested that purchased paintings remain until end of show.

The show will be judged by the attendees (People's Choice) for Best Painting and for Best Photo, and the top three in each category will receive ribbons.
