Always… Patsy Cline

By Ted Swindley

Directed by Vastine Stabler

Reilly Theatre, Tower Drive, LSU

The beloved musical Always… Patsy Cline returns to Swine Palace for the third time in 15 years. For the first time the role of Patsy Cline will be played by an alumna of the LSU School of Theatre. Baton Rouge native Ann Harris Novakowski, returns home from Florida to become the legendary singer from June 5-17. Joining her on the stage is Chicago actress and MFA student, Andréa Morales.

Always…Patsy Cline is based on a true story about Patsy Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.

The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsy’ unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight… 27 songs in all. This beloved show continues to draw in passionate fans.
