Crowds packed the 4-H building at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on Saturday night as country star Kane Brown took the stage. Tickets to see the viral-sensation-turned-chart-topping-country-singer sold out in a flash, as the hit took the stage for the final time this year. Parish-County Line, Chase Tyler Band, Sara Collins, and Walker McGuire opened up the show.

Fans were ecstatic to hear Brown's hit songs like "There Goes My Everything" and "Used to Love You Sober," as well as covers from fellow country stars Alan Jackson and Billy Currington. His No. 1 hit "What Ifs" was the favorite among the crowd, as Brown closed out his last show of 2017 with the chart-topping song.

Fans got a treat when Brown brought 12-year-old Sadie on stage to sing along to pop songs from The Chainsmokers and Justin Beiber. After learning she recently celebrated her birthday, Brown pulled out some cash from his pocket and gave it to the little girl saying "I don't know how much that is, but there's $100 in there somewhere." Needless to say, Sadie's very first concert experience was one she won't soon forget.

Lamar-Dixon is quickly becoming a touring destination for big name artists. Even those who did not attend the sold-out show could feel the effects around Gonzales. Traffic was backed up on I-10 in both directions, as well as all along Highway 30 to Burnside, as crowds flocked to the expo center for both the country show and the best Christmas light display in the parish.

Upcoming events at Lamar-Dixon include Lee Brice and Frank Foster on January 20 and the No Limits Monster Truck show on February 24. Check out LamarDixonExpoCenter.com for a complete list of events.
