On Saturday, June 17, 2017, Lamar-Dixon Expo Center hosted Rock’N the Bayou, another huge hit for the rapidly growing entertainment leader in the Gulf South.

More than 4,000 people came to see headliners Loverboy and other artists like Under the Radar, Grammy winner Bill Champlin, Cowboy Ralph Innes, Chase Tyler, John Cafferty, and a special guest appearance by Peter Criss of KISS.

Rock’N the Bayou was the first major concert hosted in the 4-H building, a 70,000 square foot, climate-controlled venue. More concerts are scheduled for the building throughout this year and into 2018.

President Kenny Matassa said, “This is just a part of my vision for the new Lamar-Dixon. We are constantly working with promoters to bring in more diverse events, something for everybody.”

Rock’N the Bayou promoter Scott Innes had nothing but praise for Lamar-Dixon. “Rock’N the Bayou was a huge success! Working with Lamar-Dixon Expo Center has been amazing. I’ve produced concerts for over 20 years and the staff here is first class. Rock’N the Bayou will be back next year bigger and even better.”

Even Loverboy front man Mike Reno was impressed. “What a great venue to hold a concert. Simply amazing,” he said.

Lamar-Dixon General Manager Kyle Rogers added, “Our calendar of high quality live entertainment continues to grow. I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to follow us on all social media outlets and stay tuned for more excitement to come our way.”

A full calendar of upcoming events can be seen at and the Lamar-Dixon Facebook page.
