2016 Ascension Idol-Voice Announces Prizes and Sponsors

GONZALES– The Top Winners of Ascension Idol 2016 will have a lot to sing for as our final prize line-up has been announced. 

  • First Place: Jazz Fest (Weekend One) Krewe of Jazz Fest Package for Two

  • Second Place: Bayou Country Super Fest Three-Day Floor Package for Two

  • Third Place: Country Jam Tickets for Four

“We would like to thank our wonderful sponsors,” Ascension Fund Executive Director Jennifer deFrances said. “Their support allows us to put forth a phenomenal production with enviable prizes. This year our sponsors include, All Star Lincoln Ford, La Quinta Inn & Suites, Shell Companies, Domain Architecture, Eatel, CF Industries, InfiniEdge Software, The Creole, Judjix and Potash Corp Geismar. We are accepting applications for auditions now and the final event will take place at the Gonzales Civic Center on March 18.”

Auditions for the 2016 Ascension Idol-Voice Competition will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the La Quinta Inn & Suites Conference Room in Gonzales. This sixth annual singing competition is open to students enrolled in an Ascension Parish school, public or private, between the sixth and twelfth grades. Applications for auditions can be downloaded from the website at www.ascensionidol.com and submitted by Feb.1 to The Ascension Fund, 117 West Ascension Street, Gonzales, LA 70737 or by email to info@ascensionfund.com

Ascension Idol-Voice is an annual fundraiser benefitting the Ascension Fund, which provided its first teacher grants in 1992 and has since given more than 1,100 grants representing over $1.3 million in awards to area public schools and teachers.
