Gonzales’ Music in the Park schedule set for Spring

Gonzales – Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux’s Mayor’s Council for the Arts announced the 2015 line-up for Music in the Park.
Now in its fourth year, the free concert series has been a hit with locals and revelers from external parishes, who join at Jambalaya Park in the City of Gonzales to listen to music, dance in the outdoor arena and enjoy an afternoon of welcome entertainment.
Acts for this year have been confirmed and are as follows:
- April 12, The Boogie Men, a 9-piece dance band powered by a horn section, who play a wide variety of music that spans six decades and includes the most current popular songs of today.
- April 19, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas, a lively group who have earned their reputation as the premier Zydeco band in the world.
- April 26, Chris LeBlanc and Luther Kent, two blues and funk legends of the South whose songs resonate with audiences wherever they play.
- May 3: Rockin’ Doopsie, the ultimate entertainer who brings a high energy stage show that has led to him being called the James Brown of Zydeco and New Orleans funk.
The concert series is free to the public and runs from 2 – 5 p.m. each Sunday.
The Mayor’s Council for the Arts invites one and all to dust off their dancing shoes and make sure to spend a little time in Gonzales this spring, as they bring you rhythm, blues and a whole lot of soul.
