Rubicon LLC and River Parish Community College has selected two winners to receive the first Rubicon R.E.A.L. (Rubicon Empowering Adult Learning) award for the spring semester of 2019. The two winners were Roy Curry, Process Technology student, and Benjuiel Lanieu, Process Technology student, studying at RPCC.

"These young men have proven themselves dedicated to their college career while working hard to take care of their families through full time or nearly full-time work, and that's what the Rubicon R.E.A.L. awards support," Tanya Stilley, HR Representative at Rubicon, said.

"River Parishes Community College and the RPCC Foundation are incredibly proud to have Rubicon as a partner," Lilly Murphy, Director of Institutional Development at RPCC, said. "The Rubicon R.E.A.L. scholarships are an innovative way to make dreams available to the working adults in our community. Together we are changing lives through education and employment opportunities."

Rubicon R.E.A.L. awards are awarded to assist students with educational expenses while working. These scholarships are merit-based and primarily focused on adult learners, typically considered non-traditional, that desire to continue their education.

Deadline for Fall 2019 semester is June 15, 2019. You can call or visit the River Parish Community College financial aid office for more information regarding the application process.
