Wash ’N Roll Express Car Wash held its first annual "Wash Off Contest" on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. The school with the most vehicles representing them as they come through the car wash would receive cash prizes in this order: First Place $1,000, Second Place $500, and Third Place $250. The car wash is centrally located and serve customers from all three local, public high schools.

The contest encouraged the student body of the three public high schools to patriciate, and invited the school’s mascots and cheerleaders to attend after school. The Wash ‘N Roll mascot, Jay the Frog, was there to celebrate as well. Frog sunglasses were passed out to all younger children in each car that day.

John DeArmond, co-owner of Wash 'N Roll stated, "We wanted to thank the people of Ascension Parish for standing by us throughout our inaugural year in business. We live and worship in this community, and give back to the place we call home. We wanted to do something that would give back to our community in a big way."

On November 30, DeEtte DeArmond and John DeArmond delivered checks to the 2018 Wash Off winners, $1,000 to East Ascension High with a total of 84 washes, $500 to St. Amant with 65 washes, and $250 to Dutchtown High with 30 washes.

"We are celebrating our one year anniversary, and are grateful for everyone's support," says DeEtte. "Giving back to our local school system and our young people has always been something our entire family has done through the years in Ascension Parish. Thank you to everyone that participated!"
