In 1978, the first PJ's Coffee of New Orleans was opened on Maple Street. Today, there are more than 70 locations open in Louisiana.

To celebrate their 40th year as an established brand, PJ's revealed a fresh, new logo for their stores, which would begin to make its way onto the cups, bags, and so forth at the beginning of 2018. Older stores would revamp the old look with remodeling, while the new stores would open with the new, sleek designs and new logo.

In Prairieville, on August 6, the new PJ's location opened it's doors to the community. However, their grand opening wasn't until September 22.

The grand opening was a hit, and particularly convenient for families who could hop next door for some coffee after their children had swimming lessons at Crawfish Swim School. The PJ's location had a table set up outside for guests to take a chance at winning some free items. There was a wheel that they could spin, which would land on different options like a free shirt, a coffee mug, a free drink, a gift card, and so forth. Other items on the table included PJ's coffee stickers, stress balls, pens, and koozies.

Attendees had the opportunity to receive a free hot, or cold, coffee between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to celebrate the opening. On September 29, the community will have another opportunity to receive a free, 12 oz Ruby Roast hot coffee, which is a light roast. The PJ's is participating in the free coffee giveaway because September 29 is National Coffee Day.

The Prairieville location is at 15089 Hwy 73, and is open Monday-Friday from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.
