Sweet fruit at delightful prices

Satisfying a sweet tooth while also eating something that is healthy is a combination you can't really go wrong with.

Erica Williams, the owner of Sweet Fruit Delights, opened her second location on September 18 in Donaldsonville. Her first location was in Natchitoches.

"I got married and moved to Donaldsonville. So, I decided to open a store here. The store in Natchitoches is run by some of my family. That location has been open for eight years now," Williams said.

Williams planned on opening the store at 11 a.m., but had people coming as early as 10 a.m. Needless to say, Donaldsonville is excited to have a store like this in the city and residents are eager to try it.

"We plan on doing catering, as well as delivery. Donaldsonville, Belle Rose, and Napoleonville are a few of the places we plan on delivering to. Potentially, we're looking at White Castle, too," Williams said.

Sweet Fruit Delights will be offering a variety of items to choose from, for example, caramel apples. You can either order a plain caramel apple, or add a flavor to it, like Oreo crumbles, M&M's, cheesecake, Snickers, Reese's, or peanuts. The price of the apples are five dollars.

Other products offered include: chocolate, or white chocolate covered strawberries at ten dollars for half a dozen, sweet treats (chocolate pretzels, peanut brittle, and more) at five dollars, or your choice of an edible fruit arrangement. Prices vary for the fruit arrangements.

The location will be open Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at 215 Railroad Avenue in Donaldsonville.
