There’s a lot more in store for customers at the new and improved Rouses Market at 40017 Highway 42 in Prarieville, including a Pet Center, bulk coffee section and more wine, beer and spirits. “We basically built a new store inside our old store,” says Donny Rouse, CEO.

Neighbors are invited to celebrate the completion of the store’s renovation at an official grand reopening on Wednesday, August 29th. The Ascension Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a ribbon cutting for 9 a.m. Rouses and their partners will be sampling food and drinks throughout the day.

Updates and enhancements were made to every department. “There’s a much bigger emphasis on prepared foods, which we do better than anyone,” says Rouse. Changes include a new hot food bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; a new gourmet olive bar; and a new soup and salad bar offering an ever-changing selection of fresh and prepared salads. A Mongolian Grill will be serving made-to-order rice and noodle dishes.

This Rouses location will now have many of the departments and products Rouses is famous for. Randal and Marcy LeBlanc, the current owners and landlords of the Bon Lieux shopping center on Highway 42, are excited with the structural and interior upgrades recently completed. “We believe the upgrades and improvements made by Rouses to their retail space, along with the improvements we have made to the parking lot, will well position this center for many years to come,” says Randall LeBlanc. “Also, we know the Hwy. 42 road project, when completed, along with the improvements both inside and outside, will provide an awesome shopping experience for everyone in the area.”

“I encourage people to come out on Wednesday, or stop by over the weekend, when we’re outside cooking or sampling in store,” says Rouse. We have all sorts of fun activities planned. This is one of my favorite renovations ever. It’s definitely worth celebrating.
