As part of his overall program to provide improved customer service while offering job enhancement to employees, Ascension Parish President Kenny Matassa announced that three members of the Parish’s Building staff have been certified by the International Code Council (ICC).

The ICC is the international body that sets standards for building. Most states and municipalities, including Ascension Parish, adopt all or part of the ICC standards into their codes and ordinances.

Chief Building Official James Hebert stated that Cynthia Moses, Suzanne Lilly, and Susie Simoneaux each earned the Certified Permit Technician.

Ms. Lilly has been employed with the Parish for 10 years. Ms. Moses and Ms. Simoneaux have been employed with the Parish for five years. All three attended a week-long training in Beaumont, Texas, and afterward passed a test to become certified.

Certification improves the customer experience and provides employees with opportunities for professional development.
