Tanger kicks off monthly Mommy and Me events

Tanger Outlet Mall in Gonzales kicked off their monthly Mommy and Me events on Tuesday morning. The one hour event will be held at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month from now through October. The get together boasts story times, arts and crafts, face painting, and a special visit from Tanger-roo, the outlet's mascot.

Each month the event will feature a different theme that goes along with the season. In March, the celebration was all about Easter. Kids painted bunny masks and got to take pictures with the Tanger-roo. They even got their faces painted up like bunnies, and took home Easter-themed coloring sheets. A craft table was sponsored by the River Region Art Association, who brought a crew and provided crafts.

The first Mommy and Me event welcomed more than 100 moms and their children to a suite at the Highway 30 outlet mall. Children enjoyed activities and snacks, while the moms walked away with a gift bag full of coupons for Tanger stores.

The March event concluded with an Easter egg hunt in the grassy area behind the mall. Tanger-roo led the way as the children bunny hopped and walked along the sidewalk to egg hunting grounds. If all that wasn't enough, each child also took home a prize of Easter egg bubbles.

Upcoming events will include themes like flowers and gardening, police and firefighters, and more. Each will also welcome a special guest like a balloon artist or children's magician. The themes will feature their own story times and craft activities as well.

It was a day filled with family fun at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Gonzales. Join us next month on April 10 for the next Mommy and Me event at 10 a.m.
