Early Voting

CITY OF DONALDSONVILLE ELECTION DATE MARCH 24. Early voting begins on Saturday, March 10 and continues through Saturday, March 17. This is for the City of Donaldsonville ONLY WHAT’S ON THE BALLOT? City of Donaldsonville - 5 Mills Renewal - CC - 10 Yrs. (Select 1)

Shall the City of Donaldsonville, State of Louisiana (the "City"), continue to levy a five (5) mills tax on all the property subject to taxation in the City (an estimated $136,600 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2022 and ending with the year 2031, for the purpose of funding capital outlay projects for fire protection for the Donaldsonville Fire Department? YES or NO. Early voting is conducted in the Registrar of Voters offices in Donaldsonville at 300 Houmas St., Ste B and in the Gonzales office at 828 S Irma Blvd, Rm 205. Trinity AME Relaunch Weekend

This effort is being organized to re-introduce ourselves to the Gonzales community, and provide for moments of fun and fellowship. The schedule is as follows: Friday, March 16, 7 p.m.-Night of Music, Worship and Art: This will be a worship service featuring choirs, music groups, soloists, and dancers. Saturday, March 17, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.- Community Day: Stop by to enjoy music, food, fun, and games on the church’s lawn. We will also have a “Free Garage Sale” comprised of gently used clothing, books, and other household items. Sunday, March 18, 9 a.m.- Worship and Word: Please feel free to join us in a spirited and uplifting worship service with a message delivered by our pastor.

Ascension Baseball Registration

Registration is open for the 2018 Ascension West Spring League for Coed Tee-ball (Ages 3-6), Machine Pitch (7-8), Boys Baseball (9-18), and Girls Softball (9-18). The child's age on April 30 determines his or her age bracket. Register at from Feb 22-March 25. Or register in-person Sat. Pet Adoption Event Saturday

The spca of Livingston will be holding a pet adoption event on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Event will take place at the PetSmart on Millerville Road in Baton Rouge right off of I-12. Bring your family out and meet all of the sweet, furry friends looking for their forever homes. There will be a variety of puppies and adult dogs.

Nonprofit Fundraising Training

Xavier University and Sanford Institute of Philanthropy are offering fundraising training for nonprofit organizations in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. Xavier University of Louisiana and Sanford Institute of Philanthropy The fundraising topic is "Become a Master at Donor Prospecting." Academic Success

Washburn University has announced Lauren Collins of Prairieville has qualified for the President's List for the fall 2017 semester. To qualify for the President's List, a student must be enrolled in 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade point average of 4.0. Sewage Treatment Maintenance Class

You are invited to attend a free class on sewage treatment system maintenance. The information is geared toward homeowners and owners/operators of on-site sewage treatment systems as part of an effort to protect Bayou Lafourche from receiving improperly treated sewage. The information provided will help you avoid unsanitary conditions from impacting your home or business. Classes are two hours in duration. EBR Master Gardeners Plant Sale

The East Baton Rouge Master Gardener (EBRMG) Association will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, March 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the grounds of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden (Essen Lane at I-10, Baton Rouge). FREE Women's Self Defense Seminar
