Louisiana business site search website unveils new features
Louisiana Economic Development (LED) launched a revamped business site selection website to help companies search for prospective commercial sites throughout the state. Entergy Louisiana sponsored the upgrades to the online Site Selection Center.
The site is designed to meet the modern needs of economic development allies on an easy-to-use platform. Director of business development at Entergy Louisiana, Ed Jimenez, said this dynamic platform will help drive viable businesses to the state.
“Our commitment to growing the state’s economy stands firm, and we’re confident the new website will further position Louisiana as a serious contender for new opportunities,” said Jimenez.
When the Site Selection Center first launched in 2008, it was the first of its kind and quickly became a valuable tool for economic developers, site selection consultants, and businesses. Thanks to feedback from partners and years of experience, the site has been upgraded with new features like an expanded geographic information system, community profiles, and filters for data and reports.
"Putting robust, high-quality information at the fingertips of in-state economic development practitioners and site selection consultants across the globe will lead to new success stories across Louisiana," said LED Secretary Don Pierson.
More than 1,400 commercial buildings and sites are currently available in Louisiana. Entergy's four-state region is home to the largest industrial base in the country with access to raw materials, favorable business climate, expansive infrastructure, skilled workforce, and competitive utility costs.
More than 80 shovel-ready industrial sites have been vetted through the LED Certified Sites program. Because of that extensive engineering analysts, Louisiana is among the top states in the nation for development-ready sites.
The Site Selection Center can be found online at LouisianaSiteSelection.com/led. About 20 partnering agencies will feature the site with their own branding and allow features to be accessed through the partner websites.
