Rouses Markets has donated $100,000 in emergency supplies, drinking water, groceries and food toward Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, including the Cajun Navy, and victims of Hurricane Harvey in both Southwest Louisiana and Texas.

On Friday morning, Donny Rouse, Rouses Markets CEO, delivered a truckload of drinking water and food valued at $60,000 to Lake Charles to help people from Southwest Louisiana and Texas forced out of their homes and into shelters. The truckload was a personal donation from the Rouse family.

We’re working directly with disaster relief agencies like V.O.A.D South West Louisiana to distribute to areas where supplies are needed the most, like Lake Charles and Sulphur,” says Rouse.

On Sunday, firefighters from St. George Fire Protection District in Baton Rouge will cook jambalaya for victims, volunteers and first responders in areas like Calcasieu, Cameron, Vermilion, Iberia, Jefferson Davis and Beauregard. Rouses Markets partnered with the fire district to supply the ingredients. “Our number one job is feeding the community,” says Rouse. “I know everyone will appreciate a hot meal.”
