Rouses Markets Donates $2,000 to St. Theresa Food Pantry

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the August 2016 flood, Rouses Markets is helping to re-stock local food pantries to help feed the hungry in the Ascension community.
“This is what we do—we feed our neighbors, friends and families in south Louisiana. We are proud to help replenish the St. Theresa Food Pantry,” stated Donny Rouse, Rouses Market CEO.
“No one should worry about where they will find their next meal. But we can’t end hunger alone. Our partnership with Rouses Markets will help to fill a critical gap for the people who are still displaced from the flood last August,” stated Anna Sparacino, St. Theresa Director of Community Services.
“St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church was one of the few places operating during the flood. The church and food pantry are vital to the community, and we appreciate the support from Rouses Markets,” said Father Eric Gyan.
Food bank barrels are located in all Rouses Markets locations for customers who would like to donate food items to their local food pantries.
Anthony J. Rouse, Sr., founded Rouses Markets in 1960. Donny Rouse is the 3rd generation to manage the company. In Louisiana alone, Rouses Markets operates 46 stores. The company’s remaining eight stores are located in Mississippi and Lower Alabama. Rouses Markets employs over 6,300 team members. It has consistently been voted Best Supermarket and Best Place to Work. For more info visit www.rouses.com.
