Eight-year-old Cambrea Mayers beat out more than 2,700 other Ascension Parish students to win Tiger Honda’s first Christmas Card Contest. Her beautifully drawn gift box with red heart wrapping paper is gracing the dealership’s Christmas Card.

Students at five Ascension Parish schools, St. John Primary/St. Theresa of Avila, Lakeside Primary, Gonzales Primary School, Central Primary School and G.W. Carver were asked to design a Christmas Card. Mayers’ design was selected as the winning artwork.

We were overwhelmed at the response to our contest,” said Tiger Honda of Gonzales General Manager Scott Josephson. “Being a good neighbor is important to us, so we decided to incorporate a local student’s artwork into our Christmas Card.”

For her design, Mayers received a $100 Toys R Us gift card. She plans to share her gift card with her seven-year old sister Chloe and her five-year old brother Coen. She’ll have no problem dividing the gift card into thirds, since math is her favorite subject at Lakeside Primary School. Mayers can’t wait for Christmas morning to see if Santa ate the cookies she left out for him.

A runner-up from each school that participated received a $25 gift card to Toys R Us.
