Jambalaya Festival Association Christmas Parade to be held Dec. 11

The 2016 JFA Christmas Parade with the theme, “Hard Candy Christmas”, will take place Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1p.m. The parade will take place along Burnside Avenue in Gonzales.

The parade route will begin along Worthy Road and continue down Burnside Ave. ending before Airline Highway.

Parade celebrations will showcase a wide variety of decorated floats featuring several Parish dignitaries, Christmas music, local elementary and high school bands, dance teams, and the 2016 Jambalaya Queens.

JFA President, Wally Taillon, along with Parade Committee Members are excited to announce the Grand Marshal for the 2016 Christmas Parade will be long time JFA member and former King, Mike Daigle.

Mike started out with the Jambalaya Festival as a Knights of Columbus representative in 1981. He was crowned Jambalaya Festival King in 1993 and is also a past recipient of the Nora Lee Ricca Award. He remains an active member of the festival today, volunteering at the festival each year.
