Chamber welcomes new chairperson, four board members

     Kendal Matassa, Regions Bank, handed over the reins as 2015 Chairman of the Ascension Chamber Board to the new 2016 Chairwoman Bridget Hanna, Ascension Parish Clerk of Court.

     The Chamber’s Board functions under President/CEO Sherrie Despino and an appointed chairperson. In addition to the appointment of Hanna as chairwoman, four new board members were also appointed. The new additions to the 2016 Board of Directors are Malcolm Carter, The Scotts Company; Mark Dearman, Rubicon, LLC; Patrice Pujol, Ascension Parish School Board and Scott Richard, St. Elizabeth Hospital.

     The Ascension Chamber credits its success to an active membership of close to 600 businesses, its dedicated staff and most importantly to a diverse, innovative Board of Directors.

     The Chamber would like to thank Kendal Matassa for his dedication to the Chamber throughout 2015. It also extends its gratitude to outgoing board Members Miles Holley, Skid Marks Tire & Auto Care; Sue Knight, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Donna Whittington, River Parishes Community College for their years of dedication and service.

     The mission of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce is to facilitate and foster economic growth for its members. The Ascension Chamber works to encourage a healthy and growing economic environment in the parish by offering its membership several promotional, sponsorship and networking opportunities in addition to encouraging its many visitors and callers to shop Ascension.
